The melding of flamenco-styled acoustic and hard-driving power chords which starts off this EP is a pretty stunning display of guitar wizardry. But when the full band comes in, about a minute and a half into “Spanish Jam,” Driftin’ Suns take an almost Primus attack on the song. It’s boisterous as well as virtuosic.
The other three tracks on the EP follow a similar flow, and incorporate more depth musically, but their vocal tracks can’t hold a candle to the instrumental start to the album.
